WHAT'S NEW?
This page will feature projects that are timely and helpful for property owners.
There were drainage issues with this recent project. Water built up in the winter and backed into the doors to the basement. The wall has no drainage behind it, the ground behind the wall slopes toward the house and the wall butts up against the basement door. The outlet for the perimeter drain had been damaged and was not working properly, and that has been replaced at this point.

The wall has been moved back from the door and a trench drain has been installed in front of the door and tied into the perimeter drain.

The wall now has a nicer appearance and the earth slopes away from the house. Measures have been taken to avoid erosion and the lawn will be seeded in the spring.
This job was replacing front steps with new, larger granite steps. The before picture shows that the steps were way too small for the home. The scale is way off and the steps have settled and are out of shape.

What a difference in the appearance of the home! The steps were purchased and delivered by Viking Hardscapes in Warren. Special thanks to Jason Wiley owner of Sterling Ambulance for taking time away from his business to lend me a hand.

The area had been filed to cover ledge, but that caused the water to pool against the house causing several water damage problems. For last Fall, we just graded everything away from the house and in the Spring, the area will be finished with a walk and plantings.

Above is the before picture. Notice the water stains on the shingles in the right side of the photo.
In the photo below, you can see the exposed ledge and the pitch away from the building.

Here's some before and after shots of a project in Camden that I finished on August 9th of last year. New wall, steps and walk. New drive and new lawn.
Here's two before pics. Water ran into the garage, the old wall was falling over and the lawn was difficult to mow.

Now the driveway has been regraded and surfaced with stone dust, a new wall and paver walkway has been installed and the lawn is ready for seeding.
