Thanks for visiting our website!

People ask me all the time if I'm a landscaper or a site work contractor or exactly what I am.  After six years in this business I realize that what I do is solve problems.  That's it.  I don't install septic systems, I don't build roads.  I don't do site work for new constuction.  I do solve problems related to drainage issues, and  gravel road problems.  Wet basements come up time after time and driveway washouts are a common problem.  We've been able to provide cost effective solutions to problems for the last six years and look forward to adding more satisfied customers to our list.

What  a great season this has been so far!  Lots of interesting work and problem solving for many of our terrific Customers. Visit our "What's new" page for pictures of recent projects.

We were very pleased to assist Peter Thompson on his Eagle Scout project recently.  A couple of photos are posted on the Low Impact Site Work page.

We became affiliated with Greenfoot Global this summer and have been very satisfied with the results.  We're doing our part to reduce emissions while saving a significant amount of fuel.  A win/win arrangement for sure.  Click on the link at the bottom of the page to see how you can do your part, too.

                       Why choose Down to Earth?

We take a "green" approach to site work. Most contractors, even those with compact equipment disturb a much larger area than where the work is needed. Our "greener" approach means that we carefully work around flower gardens, walks, trees, or whatever is in your yard. We're glad to take a little extra time to get the job done and minimize damage to surrounding lawns and grounds. Our mini excavator can fit through a four foot gate or between a house and garage to do a project in a backyard. Though small in size, it has a digging depth of seven feet.

Often customers need a small amount of loam, manure, mulch, or whatever, and our one ton truck is ideal to deliver the product where it is needed without damaging the lawn. If we can't get the truck to the spot where the product is needed, we can distribute the material into the bucket of our sub compact tractor and place it exactly where it's needed. While this tractor is small in stature, it's able to tackle good sized jobs. It's equipped with turf tires so it goes across lawns without leaving a trace. The Harley Power Rake on the back lets us finish grade work on lawns so that they're ready to seed. Even though it's small in size, the combination is powerful enough to cut out potholes on gravel roads, grade the proper crown into roads and driveways and level surface material that needs to be added. View a demonstration video by clicking on the link above.

You can see that our approach is different from many other contractors. We look forward to looking at your project, seeing if we can be of assistance and scheduling you for  2012.
